Sandy Gadow began her career in escrow in 1976, in San Rafael, California. She is the author of the popular escrow books, The Complete Guide to Your Real Estate Closing and The Nuts and Bolts of Escrow, in addition to escrow and title training manuals. She has over 25 years experience in escrow, title, and real estate. As an escrow and title officer working in the business, Sandy has handled thousands of closings over the years. She is a monthly columnist for the Wall Street Journal and their real estate site, www.realestatejournal.com. She also writes for the Washington Post and other regional newspapers and has appeared on CNN Financial News. While compiling information for an online closing company, Sandy visited all areas of the country researching differences between regions so she is uniquely qualified on title and closing procedures throughout the nation. She is also a licensed mortgage broker and real estate sales associate.

Philosophy
My goal is to create training materials to educate not just the escrow and title professional, but the customer as well. When buyers and sellers understand the transaction, they can actually help with the process, and that makes life easier for everyone involved. I develop teaching tools and aids for community colleges, escrow schools, and title companies with the focus on simplifying processes. I have also investigated regulations in order to publish timely updates, particularly to correct misconceptions in areas such as RESPA and recission rights. Thorough research and clear communication are the basis for all my education materials.
